EASTERN PIPELINE

The Western Corridor Recycled Water Project is an important part of the Queensland Government’s $9 billion South East Queensland Water Grid, the largest urban drought response in Australia.

The scope of construction involves laying more than 200km of large-diameter underground pipeline, building three advanced water treatment plants, eight storage tanks and nine pumping stations.

Given the scale of this construction, five Alliances are delivering the major project components, including the Eastern Pipeline.

Our specialised structural design experience has been utilised as part of the Eastern Pipeline Alliance. Our involvement included design and documentation of more than 50 microtunnel crossing shafts for pipelines under roads, railways and creeks. H&H was also involved in the design of the underwater construction for Goodna Outfall at Brisbane River and the design review of Oxley Wastewater Treatment Plant. The detailed design was carried out in the top down construction sequences by computer software 'Wallap'.
