COMMUNITY
H&H Consulting Engineers are proud to participate in community activities and have a history of supporting such organisations as 'The Bear Cottage' and 'The Starlight Foundation', as well as the 'Police Safety Education' program for children and the 'Variety Club' and 'Wheelchair Association'.

ENTERTAINMENT
H&H Consulting Engineershave designed sound studios and cinemas. Naturally, sound attenuation was an important aspect of design with care taken to isolate critical structural elements. We have performed designs in both lightweight insulated construction and heavy masonry construction.

RELIGIOUS CENTRES
Churches, nursing homes and ancillary buildings in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales have been designed utilising both conventional and Tilt-Up methods of construction. Invariably there are complexities in the shape and design of the ceilings, nave and skylights, irrespective of the method of construction. In all cases there is a religious influence on the design and in some instances an ethnic influence.

EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES
Our design portfolio includes many regional schools; Orange, Hoxton Park and Port Kembla and these have been won in a competitive design and construct tender process. Henry & Hymas designed a series of 2 and 3 storey school buildings in Malaysia, constructed in remote areas under difficult conditions (no ready-mix concrete available). The builder chose the Tilt-Up method of construction - including the columns and beam frame, as well as the floors, sun hoods and verandahs.

SPORTING FACILITIES
Our design of sporting facilities includes bowling alleys, tennis and basketball courts rifle and pistol ranges. Perhaps the most challenging being multi-purpose, cyclone proof facilities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with 60 sites throughout Australia and it's Islands.

SYDNEY OLYMPICS
H&H Consulting Engineers were proud to be involved with the following aspects of 'The Games':

H&H Consulting Engineers acted as consultants to the international firm of 'Generale Locations'. This involved us in the design and certification of numerous temporary structures, including tents and grandstands. Design challenges involved aluminium connections and timber plank eccentrically loaded foundations, as well as the erection design of pre-cast seating, etc. for the Sydney Aquatic Centre.

Design of buildings to provide facilities for the media, sponsors and the Olympic Village was also handled by us, as was the elaborate NIKE fit-out.

One of the mandatory features of all structural design we undertook for the Olympics was flexibility of the design for future industrial and retail purposes.
